Safeguarding
The Lilya Lighthouse Education Trust is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all our children in school. Safeguarding is about ensuring that everyone is safe from harm. Safe from bullying, safe from people who could abuse, safe from discrimination or harassment - and that we all feel safe in our environment.
If you are ever concerned about the safety or well-being of someone at our school, please talk to a member of our safeguarding team:
-
Mica Coleman Jones - Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
-
Becky Freely - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
Our Safeguarding Approach
Safeguarding Policies
Our safeguarding policies outline how we protect children's welfare, comply with legal duties, and ensure all staff understand their responsibilities.
Collaboration
We work as part of a multi-agency approach to identify, prevent, and respond to harm. This collaborative working is a legal and moral duty.
Staff Training
Safeguarding training is essential to protect children from harm, support vulnerable students, and effectively to safeguarding concerns.
Safer Recruitment
We ensure that staff and volunteers are safe to work with children and vulnerable groups by carrying out the appropriate checks and seeking references.
Curriculum
Embedding safeguarding in our curriculum creates a safe environment for students, helping us to prevent and address safeguarding issues.
Reporting Concerns
All members of our community are supported to easily identify our designated safeguarding leads and understand our reporting process.
