Policies

Our policies are important for creating safe and positive learning environments by setting clear expectations for our governance, staff, students, our families, and visitors. We aim to ensure our policies are clear, accessible, and updated regularly to reflect current best practices and legal requirements.

These policies include measures to:

Ensure safety
Foster positive relationships between students and staff

Offer a structure for achievement for all

Admissions

Our admissions policy sets out how we will admit students and the criteria. The policy aims to be transparent and fair, and will be updated regularly to reflect changes in legislation, the school’s circumstances, and the needs of the students we serve.

Anti-Bullying

Our policy sets out how we will challenge bullying, ignorance, hatred and promote a wonderful world where difference is embraced. The aim of our policy is to ensure that pupils can flourish and be educated in a safe and supported environment.

Attendance

The purpose of this policy statement is to protect our students from harm. The policy provides staff and volunteers, as well as children and young people and their families, with the overarching principles that guide our approach to child protection.

Complaints Procedure

Our complaints policy explains how our students' families and members of the public can lodge a complaint, how complaints are handled, how they can be escalated and who will investigate the issue at each stage.

Child Protection and Safeguarding

The policy provides staff and volunteers, as well as children and young people and their families, with the overarching principles that guide our approach to child protection. The purpose of this policy statement is to protect our students from harm.

Data Protection

Our policy sets out our processes for protecting personal data and responding effectively to a personal data breach. This policy will help staff and trustees understand how to comply with data protection law and follow good practice for preventing personal data breaches.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Lilya's Schools, we are committed to ensure that our policies and practices are inclusive and equitable as well as regularly assessing and addressing any potential barriers or biases that may exist within existing policies.

Drugs and Substance Misuse

This policy document identifies effective strategies that we will implement in this area of the curriculum and takes account of the guidance from the DfE Drug Advice for Schools 2012: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/drugs-advice-for-schools.

Educational Visits

This policy sets out guidance and procedure when planning and conducting an off-site educational visit. This policy should be read in conjunction with our safeguarding policies.

Employability (including work placements)

We believe in providing students with learning opportunities which aim to equip them for adult life. Our policy aims to explain how these are integrated into our curriculum whilst setting out the arrangements for work placements.

Exam Arrangements

We are dedicated to ensuring the effective management and administration of exams, placing the needs of our candidates at the forefront. This policy outlines our commitment to providing a structured, transparent, and supportive exam environment for all students.

First Aid

Our policy aims to promote fairness and transparency by ensuring that there are specific and clear rules and procedures for handling grievance situations and that employees who have a grievance about their employment are aware of their rights.

Grievance and Disciplinary

Health and Safety

Our policy for health and safety aims to provide everyone with a healthy and safe environment for learning and working.

Our policy sets out our safe working procedures amongst staff, students and all visitors to the school site.

Information, Advice and Guidance

The purpose of the policy is to ensure that all staff and students are aware of our careers strategy and practices. We aim to widen student’s horizons, challenge stereotypes, and raise aspirations to support students to make successful transitions to the next stage of their life.

Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment

LLET is committed to maintaining the highest standards in teaching, learning, and assessment through thorough quality assurance. This policy sets out those processes.

IT and E-Safety

This policy provides guidance on the use of ICT resources for staff, students, parents/carers and trustees, including clear expectations for the way all members of the school community engage with each other online.

Learner Enquiries and Appeal

The Learner Enquiries and Appeals Policy sets out the steps that are to be followed in the event that a complaint has been made in relation to assessment.

Learner Guidance and Support

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all students receive the necessary advice, guidance, and support in order to optimise their achievement on courses that are completely appropriate to their needs.

Lone Working

Our lone working policy outlines our approach to safeguarding employees who work in isolation. It serves as a framework for promoting safety, establishing clear procedures, and ensuring compliance with legal standards.

Medical

This policy sets out how staff will support students with medical conditions at Lilya's schools.

Medical Emergency

The purpose of this policy is to provide staff with a clear protocol of what to do in the event of a medical emergency.

Modern Slavery

Our statement sets our zero-tolerance approach towards modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.

Pupil Premium

The pupil premium policy helps others to understand the purpose of the pupil premium and which students are eligible.

Quality Assurance

Our QA policy aim to continually improve our provision to give students the very best offer of education.

Recognition of Prior Learning

This policy sets out how and when recognition of prior learning (RPL) can be used as a method of assessment for vocational qualifications. It includes guidance on how the RPL process can be managed.

Remote Learning

This policy outlines the procedures and expectations for delivering education to students when they are unable to physically attend school.

Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE)

Our RSHE policy outlines the framework for teaching out students about relationships, sexuality, and health, aiming to equip them with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their wellbeing.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Our SEND policy outlines our framework for identifying, assessing, and providing appropriate support to students with special educational needs and disablities.

Social Media

Our social media policy sets out our rules for our trust's social media use and makes sure our staff, students, and families understand expectations on how to act appropriately online.

Staff Code of Conduct

Our staff code of conduct sets out how we expect staff to behave in line with our philosophy and values (with a particular focus on kindness!).

Staff CPD and Performance Management

Our CPD policy helps to ensure that all staff within Lilya's Schools are able to access good professional development.

Stress

The aim of this policy is to ensure that all workplace stressors are identified and risk assessments conducted to eliminate stress. These risk assessments will be regularly reviewed.

Transporting Children in Cars

Our policy sets out the protocols for staff when considering transporting children in cars.

Understanding and Supporting Behaviour

This policy sets out how we understand and support behaviour at Lilya's schools.

Whistleblowing

Our whistleblowing policy provides our people with avenues for raising concerns and receiving feedback on any action taken.
